The first thing I saw when I turned on the cable tv was the election of Barack Obama. Actually, it was Dick Cheney announcing the totals, which added a special touch to it for me. They were tallying up the electoral college on C-Span or whatever and making it official, so that was a nice re-introduction to the magic of cable tv. Then I watched The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, and then…well, this is all normal stuff, isn’t it? This is how most people live? Then I’ll stop there.
But yes, the cable is here (basic, but still) and so life is changed forever. I got home last night and watched the Travel channel go over the top beaches in the world–or was it the sexiest beaches? Whatever. Good, informative programming. After that was a show all about Vegas and the best places to sin, or something. Magic, this cable is, magic, I tell you.
